In the UK, 17.1 million working days were lost last year due to stress, anxiety, or depression — more than half of all work-related ill health (HSE, 2023). The cost to employers? An estimated £56 billion a year in absence, lost productivity, and staff turnover (Deloitte, 2022). But more importantly, the human cost is even greater.
Behind every statistic is a person who’s struggling to cope, perhaps feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply not themselves.
Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand how much people are carrying and how often they’re expected to carry on, unnoticed. The truth is, people don’t leave their emotions at the door when they come to work. And yet, many workplaces still aren’t equipped to recognise the signs, start the conversations, or offer the support that makes a difference.
We simply must do better.
This training isn’t just about policies or box-ticking. It’s about helping people feel seen, heard, and supported. Whether they're struggling or supporting others. It’s about building cultures where well-being is woven into the fabric of everyday working life, not just reserved for crisis moments.
That’s why I created this project. To offer practical, evidence-based, and compassionate training that empowers individuals, leaders, and teams to look after their own mental health both in the workplace and at home.
